Vessel Launch!

On August 13, 2010 we lauched our vessel in Porpoise Bay, Sechelt, BC.

The initial launch went off without a hitch. We will be doing some adjustments to the ballasts and then will pull it out of the water and back to the shop for some final detailing.

Motor installed

We have installed the motor and are now finishing up work on the motor controls, fuel system and hydraulic system. We hope to be ready for an open water run before the end of July.

Vessel nearing completion

The vessel is nearing completion. The oil separation device has been assembled and is mounted on the vessel. The deck and railings are almost completed and we are now working on the mechanical, power, hydraulics and the oil pumps which will offload the oil from the vessel.

Vessel is coming together

The deck has been constructed and the two pontoons attached.

We are also currently working on the design of the hydraulic system which will serve to power the oil separator device and run the pumps used to remove the oil from the vessel's oil storage compartments.

Millwright joins the fabrication team

Ralph Hogg has joined our fabrication team. He is a BC Certified Millwright and a CWB 4-Position Welder.

We have begun working on the housing for the Oil Separation device.

Pontoons / oil storage compartments nearing completion

The pontoons which also will serve as oil storage compartments with baffles are nearing completion.

Blueprints for the vessel have been submitted to Transport Canada. We are waiting for final approval.

Construction of vessel soon to begin

On Friday, May 28 we received the first shipment of aluminum which will be used to construct the specially designed vessel to house our oil separation device.

Construction of the vessel will begin Monday, May 31. The hydraulic system which will control the device is currently in the design stage.
